|Chase, Christopher Alfred II.
Age 42, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
As we gather here today still hurt from the tragic death of Christopher, we are shocked, scared, and angered at the unfairness and senselessness that took him from us. We seek to make sense of this, to understand the reason why this happened. What plan could this have been part of, what possible meaning or lesson can be learned from this? Meaning, people will tell us, could this be all part of Gods plan, or that this was just Chris's time to go, or that he is in a better place now. But as we are all still hurting it is hard to accept that God does certainly know his plan, and we did not. Chris may indeed be in a better place now, but we still want him here with us. Unfortunately, there are no easy answers, and as difficult and painful as it is, we must accept that Chris is no longer with us. As a family, we express our sadness, we acknowledge the importance of his life, and the loss that his passing brings us. No, there are no easy answers, but there are other questions, very important questions that can be answered by looking at Chris's life. And though we must bravely face the fact of his death, we owe it to him and ourselves to look at the bigger picture of his life. To remember the good times instead of the bad. To remember how big his heart always was. To remember that in spite of his problems he was a great man who loved his family and friends. Who loved music and sports and was loved by all. In the end of all this tragedy, Chris was still a son, a brother, a husband, a father, an uncle, and a great friend and we will cherish together the man whom we all loved. Lets remember those times, just the good times. May he forever rest in peace.
