Abel “Belly” Montoya 76 entered heaven to be with Jesus on Friday, November 10, 2017. He left peacefully, surrounded by his family and is finally reunited with his cherished family and friends that have preceded him.

Belly was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Petrita Montoya, brothers; George, Phil, Herman, Leandro, his sisters; Judy Silva and Betty Giron and his son-in-law Gabe Coleman.

Belly is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dolores Montoya, and their children, John and Carol Montoya, Tina and Edmund Werner, Lydia and Junior Silva, and Alicia Coleman.

Belly is survived by twelve grandchildren: Vanessa (Jenny), TeNeil (James), Matthew (Vanessa), Christian, Shane, Josiah, Jordan, Stevie, and Elijah. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Sierra, Angelia, Avianna, Tyler, Mason, Kylie, and Laraya.

Belly is also survived by his siblings, Emily Mathieu, Rosie (Frank) Garcia, and Joey (Diane) Montoya. Belly and Dolores have many godchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to his godson, Michael Montoya, and nephew, Demecio Silva, for tirelessly supporting the family throughout his illness – day and night.

Belly served in the National Guard from 1960-65 and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church for over 50 years. His love of music spanned his lifetime. His passion for his family and respect for the traditional ways will carry his spirit on for generations to come.

We love you Honey, Daddy, Tata, Nino, Tio, Belly! Until we see you again…

A rosary and services will be held in his honor at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church located at 5415 Fortuna Rd NW 87105 on November 17, 2017 at 10:15 AM.
