Garcia, Adeline  
Age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born in Peralta, NM on September 18, 1922 to Demetrio and Lucia (Sanchez) Jaramillo. Adeline grew up in Albuquerque where she met J. Placido Garcia. They were married on January 3, 1945 in Norfolk, VA. They moved to Socorro in 1957 when Placido was hired as Superintendent for the Socorro Consolidated Schools. Adeline had a witty sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with people. She was very strong in her faith and served as a communion minister at San Miguel and took great pride in being a reader at church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J. Placido Garcia; beloved son, J. Patrick Garcia; brothers, Walter, Demetrio Jr. and Herman Jaramillo; her parents; and her step mother, Lucy Sanchez Jaramillo.  Adeline is survived by her devoted children, J. Placido (Munira) Garcia, Joseph P. (Tina) Garcia; and Mary E. Garcia; her loving grandchildren, Carla Jo (Corey Blum) Garcia, Louis (Marissa) Garcia, Muna (Chad) Melvin, J. Placido Garcia, IV, Jacqueline (Evan Small) Garcia, Jason (Jodie) Garcia, and Sara (Kelly) Acridge; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Garcia, Justin Garcia, Jared Garcia, CJ Melvin, Zac Melvin, Jake Garcia, Jaiden Garcia, and Jaxson Garcia; daughter-in-law, Carol Garcia, brothers, Ernest Jaramillo and Sam Jaramillo; sisters, Emma Gonzales, Dolores J. Martinez and Rosalie Gabaldon. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Tammie Brayboy and Flo Olguin for their exceptional care given to our mother. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated immediately following at 10:00 am. Celebrant Father John Anasiudu. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:15 pm. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Raul and Lala Grajeda, who faithfully delivered communion to the family home; Sammy Vivian, Tony Montoya, Greg Ezell and Richard Torres.
