Amalia C. Gonzales

Amalia C. Gonzales, age 91 was surrounded by her loving family when she passed on September 9th, 2020. She was born January 31st, 1929 in Espanola, New Mexico to Fortino J. Rodriguez and Siria I. Quintana. Amalia graduated from Espanola High school in 1946. She worked for Mountain Bell /US West for 30+ years.

Amalia married Sammy F. Gonzales II on October 3rd, 1949 in Espanola, New Mexico. They had two wonderful children Victor L. Gonzales and Celene Gonzales-Seebinger.

Amalia loved gardening, interior designing and volunteering. She volunteered for Academy North neighborhood association, at her local voting precinct and at her church, The Risen Savior. She was also in the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Amalia was devoted to her children, cared for her sister Celina until her passing in February 2020 and cared for her beloved aunt Antonia Quintana until her passing in 1988.  The most important things in her life were her family, her friends and the home she made with her husband. She enjoyed and never missed her weekly hair and nail appointment and was always impeccably dressed. When her grandchild was born in the winter of 1991, Bries happiness and future were her main goals in life. Amalia did everything in life to the best of her ability and it shows in all she left behind.

Her favorite saying was “Whatever you do in your life always do it to the best of your ability” M.C.G

She was preceded in Death by her father and mother Fortino J Rodriguez and Siria I. Quintana, her aunt Antonia Quintana, her husband of 50 years Sammy F. Gonzales II and her sister Gregoria C. Rodriguez.

She was survived by her son Victor Gonzales, her daughter Celene Gonzales – Seebinger and son in law Lawrence Seebinger and her granddaughter Brie Seebinger.
