Antonio Lucero

LUCERO - Antonio Lucero, age 88, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, May 3, 2010. He was born on June 14, 1921 in Ca�?�?��?�??on, NM to the late Narcisco and Florinda Lucero. Antonio was a life long resident of Ca�?�?��?�??on, where he was a member of the Catholic Community. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, who served our country during World War II. He was blessed in that he was able to provide for his beloved family by doing what he loved best, Ranching. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Josephine Lucero. Antonio is survived by his loving children, Orlando Lucero and wife Andrea, Fred Lucero and wife Rita, Prexie Lucero and husband Ivan Trujillo; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother; Mariano Lucero; his sisters, Tere Garcia and Julia Marquez; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Antonio will be greatly missed by all. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ca�?�?��?�??on, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at the Ca�?�?��?�??on Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Chris Lucero, Chris Lucero, Jr., Gabriel Lucero, Nick Burke, Daniel Lucero and Kiko Canales. Honorary Bearers will be Shane Montoya, Carl Chavez and Jerry Valencia. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this trying time in their lives. Special thanks are extended to Nurse Deborah with Odyssey Hospice and Arlene Garcia for the care given to our father; as well as to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church; to the Casket Bearers; and to those who sent floral tributes, cards and food.
