Daniel Dominic Tocci was born in New York City in 1947 and passed away peacefully at home in Corrales, New Mexico on July 13, 2018. Dan graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in Vermont in 1965, attended Castleton State College, and joined the Air Force in 1966 where he worked as an airplane mechanic on C-47s (Gooney Birds.) During his four years in the military, Dan served for a year at the Pleiku Air Base in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive.
Dan spent most of his business life as a contractor in and around New York. He moved to Corrales with his wife, Cynthia, in 2003. Dan loved cooking, entertaining, golfing, telling stories, tending his orchids, traveling and visiting museums, reading, and his Springer Spaniel, Daisy.
He was preceded by his parents, Cecelia and Anthony, his brother, Anthony, sister-in-law Connie, and wife, Anna Crivillaro. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Maurizio, brother, Lawrence, and sister, Susan, as well as many family members and his extended family of dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Home on Sara Road, in Rio Rancho, N.M. on July 19, 2018, at 11:00AM. We are planning an interment at the Finn’s Point National Cemetery in Salem, New Jersey at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation in Dan’s name be made to Hospice of New Mexico.
