John Scott MacQuarrie, age 77, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was born in San Diego, CA on January 27, 1943, to William and Helen MacQuarrie.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Dean MacQuarrie; mother, Helen McKee MacQuarrie.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Julianna MacQuarrie of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Michelle MacQuarrie of Rio Rancho, NM; granddaughter, Brieanne MacQuarrie of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Robert Sengebush of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Stephen of South Hadley, MA.
John graduated from Pasadena High School in 1960. John married the love of his life, Julianna (Strange) and they began their life together on April 11, 1964. John was vital to his community, he served as a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriffs department, which he did with great pride for 26 years (1965-1991).
John loved music. He played the guitar, singing in the folk groups in the early 1960's. In 1966 he launched an extra profession. The management of rock bands. His first was "The Second Helping" lead by Kenny Loggins. Kenny was still in High School at the time. Kenny and his band mates played many events, under John;s guidance.
John absolutely loved the water. He was not only a boat owner and operator, but also took part in water ski racing. John was an active member of the Pasadena Speedboat Club from 1971-2017 holding many offices within the club.
John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
