AVALOS - Mary G. Avalos, 67, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in Socorro, NM. Mary was born on October 27, 1943 in Socorro to Lauriano and Martina (Sanchez) Valenzuela. She is survived by her devoted children, Gilbert Avalos and wife, Lori of Lemitar; Karen Scates and husband, Tommy of Socorro; David Avalos and wife, Erica of Socorro; Bridgette Espino of Socorro; Paul Avalos of Socorro; and Michelle Avalos and companion, Jose Gandara also of Socorro; 14 loving grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Ted Valenzuela; Enrique Valenzuela; and Lorenzo Valenzuela; and her sisters, Flora Lopez; and Diane Montoya. Mary was a lifelong resident of Socorro. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping and hunting with her family, especially with her husband, Henry. Mary loved to cook. Her favorite color was purple. Mary loved to dance with her sons and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Avalos in April of 1999; two granddaughters, Natasha Avalos; and Bridgette Espino; and her brothers, Roy, Julian, Reyes, and Tony Valenzuela. A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 8:00 am at the San Miguel Catholic Church Parish Hall followed by the Rosary at 8:30 am and Mass of Resurrection at 9:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will be held in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Julian Avalos; Joseph Scates; Phillip Scates; David Avalos; Adrian Avalos; and Dylan Avalos.
