On Friday, January 25, 2019, the beautiful and tender soul of Mary Alice Pond went to be with her Heavenly Father.

Alice, as she preferred to be called, worked for over 30 years as an RN at Lovelace Bataan Medical Center.  The patients that she attended to during that time were truly blessed to be cared for by such a loving and sensitive person.

Alice loved to garden, exercise, do crossword puzzles, play with her dogs, and socialize with friends and family.  Her bright blue eyes, friendly smile and her infectious laugh will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her during her 92 years of a life well lived.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.  She will truly be missed.

Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Weatherbee; the love of her life, her husband of 53 years, Tilden "Red" Pond; and by her brother, Louis Hargrove.

Special thanks go out to all the caregivers that gave of themselves to ensure that her final years were as peaceful and comfortable as possible.  Your contributions are too great to be adequately appreciated by mere words.  Also, a big thank you to all the staff at Hospice Compassus for your help, expertise and encouragement in the difficult end of life care needs and decisions that had to be made.  You are all wonderful.  

Alice is survived by her son, Frank Pond; daughter-in-law, Julie Pond; sister, Jane Rainwater;  neices, Kathy Gardner, Suzanne Hargrove, Wanda Elane and their families.
