Robert M. Herrera

Robert M. Herrera passed away on April 11, 2021 in Rio Rancho, NM at the age of 61.

Robert is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Herrera of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Robert Herrera Jr. (wife Saskia) of Murrieta, CA; son, Shane Herrera of Rio Rancho, NM; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Ida Herrera of Carnuel, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Herrera-Camacho and Alfonso of Carnuel, NM; sister, Rita Alaniz of Carnuel, NM; grandchildren, Emilio Herrera, Evangelina Herrera and Enrique Herrera. He is preceded in death by his father, Ramon Herrera; mother, Margaret Herrera; and sister, Sandra Herrera.

Robert was born on April 14, 1959 in Carnuel, New Mexico to Ramon and Margaret Herrera. He graduated from Manzano High School in 1977. He married Rebecca (Becky) Frank in Albuquerque, NM on April 26, 1980 for 40 beautiful years.

Robert was so proud of his Marine Corps sons and loved his grandchildren very much.

Robert was accomplished at many skills. For over 30 years he was an experienced Irrigation Tech and was employed at Sunvista Enterprises for 13 years. He was a devoted church member and groundskeeper at St. John Vianney in Rio Rancho, NM. On his free time Robert was a perejundia and danzante matachin for many years at the East Mountain Communities.

A visitation will take place on Thursday April 22, 2021 from 11-12pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church – 1001 Meteor Ave NE Rio Rancho, NM. A rosary will take place at 12 and a mass will begin at 12:30pm. A burial will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho.
