Born in Baltimore, MD, to William Randolph, Sr., and Mary Dorothy Wilson, of Maryland.  Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Colin, and his wife of 50 years Jacqueline Joan Sudders Randolph of Gunnison, CO.  He is survived by his daughter Leslee Erin Randolph, her husband Steven Corenblith, their daughters Caitlin (Evan Grubbs) and Elisabeth, of Lakewood, CO, and by his son, William Randolph, III, his wife Sara Randolph, and their daughters Alyssa Gilmore and Jaclyn Randolph, of Menifee, CA, and his brother John R. Randolph of Las Vegas, NV.

 

Bill grew up living in Baltimore, MD, Charleston WV, and Rehoboth Beach, DE.  After he graduated from high school the family moved to Albuquerque, NM, arriving on July 6, 1950.  Bill enlisted in the US Navy on December 30, 1950, and was stationed at NAS El Centro, CA, then on two aircraft carriers, the USS Bataan CVL 29, then the USS Kearsarge CVA 33.  He was Honorably Discharged on October 8, 1954.  He returned to Albuquerque and attended UNM then Utah State. 

 

He joined the US Border Patrol in October of 1957, attending the 71st Session of the Border Patrol Academy in El Paso, TX.  He spent his career in Zapata and Laredo, TX.  He retired from the Patrol as a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent on November 15, 1980, having received numerous commendations for outstanding service.  The family moved to New Mexico where Bill worked at the US Courthouse as a Court Security Officer.  He was the supervisor for the District of New Mexico under the direction of the US Marshall.  He served there for ten years. 

 

Bill’s interests were varied:  while in Zapata, TX he was chief of the Volunteer Fire Department, and an Umpire for the Little League.  In Laredo, he was a member of Laredo Masonic Lodge #547 AF&AM where he served as Master of the Lodge, and as the District Deputy Grand Master for the 41st Masonic District.  Bill loved to hunt and fish, ride motorcycles and his ATV.  Bill was a member of the New Mexico Rail Runners N-Scale Model Railroad Club, The American Legion Post 49, Albuquerque, and the Fraternal Order of Retired Border Patrol Officers.

 

Memorial Service will be held at Hope In The Desert Episcopal Church, 8700 Alameda Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 on Saturday, January 27, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be in the Gunnison Valley Cemetery, Gunnison, CO, at a later date.
