Abbie Casares

Abbie Casares, age 80, passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 19, 1939, to Rumaldo and Rosella Serna.

Abbie was a proud business owner who enjoyed dancing and cooking.  She was a strong leader who took great pride in everything she did and how she conducted herself.  She was a devoted Jehovah's Witness and loved the color purple, hummingbirds and all that sparkles.

Abbie is survived by the love of her life, husband of 53 years, Abel Casares; her children: Geri Aragon, Kris Aragon, Marcie Casares, and Carlos and Olivia (wife) Casares; grandchildren: Michael Martinez (fiancee) Melissa, Jerome Aragon, Patches Martinez, Vincent Fresquez, Morgan Fresquez, Abel Fresquez, Carlitos Casares, Christopher Casares, Celina Casares, Alyssa (husband) David, Erika, Sunshine and Candy; great-grandchildren: Michael III (wife) Salina, Jerome, Abrie, and Caleb; great-great-grandchildren: Mia, Alayna, Zoey, Sergio and Jazlynn; sister Marcella and Mark (brother-in-law) Torres; and brother Rumaldo and Marylou (sister-in-law) Serna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lencho Serna and Oliver Esquibel; and son Erik Casares.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Tower Event Center, 4500 Tower Rd SW, 87121.
