Abe P. Garcia

Abelicio P. Garcia went to be home with the Lord on November 14, 2017 at the age of 92, with his family by his side.

Abelicio, or Abe, as he was known by his friends and family was born in Albuquerque, NM on July 12, 1925 where he spent the entirety of his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita, his sister, Clemie, and his brother, Herman.

In his younger years, Abe worked at the local train tracks for some time. After this, he spent the rest of his working days as an avid salesman at Paris Shoe Store. Abe was known as one to always tell jokes and have people laughing. He had the nickname “licho” which represented his lifestyle of never taking anything too seriously, and to always have room for fun.

Abe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharilyn Garcia, daughter, Lisa Shepard, son, Mark Garcia, daughter, Arlene Chavez, eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 on the morning of November 20th at Daniel’s Family Funeral Service’s located on Wyoming. Funeral service will take place 11:00-12:00, followed by a short reception. Burial to follow the reception at Sandia Memory Gardens.
