Abe Ulibarri

Ulibarri, Abe "Chayo"  
Age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home is Socorro.  He was born in Socorro, NM on November 13, 1940, to Eduardo and Petra (Sanchez) Ulibarri.  Abe grew up in Socorro and started working with his father in the mines near Magdalena, NM at the age of 16. He worked as a advocate for Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years. Many people said he saved their lives with his counseling. Abe was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved to cook and was always cooking his famous chili to take to the elderly. Abe was a devoted family man and his wife, Angie said he was always spoiling her. He also worked for the City of Socorro and Eagle Pitcher in Socorro for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Victor Ulibarri.  Abe  is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Angie Montano Ulibarri; his children, Sarah Hernandez and husband, Vicente, Anthony Ulibarri, Roberta Gonzales, Linda Lucero and husband, Michael, Lorraine Henderson and fiance, Matthew Zamora, and Renee Lopez and fiance, Daniel Mascarenas; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; his devoted sister in laws, Anna Bullard, Rosie Trujillo, Tillie Padilla and many cousins.  Visitation will take place Monday, March 28, 2016, from 12:00 pm-6:00 pm at  Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro.  The Holy Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 9:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with  Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 am.  Celebrant Father John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jason Lucero, Quienten Henderson, Jake Patterson, Kyle Lucero, William "Billy" Armijo, and Ryan Mascarenas.  Honorary pallbearers are all of Abe's Grandchildren.
