Abelino Sanchez

Sanchez-Abelino Sanchez, 82, was called home Saturday morning, February 14, 2009. Abelino was born in Fort Collins, CO to Leo and Victoria Sanchez on November 8, 1926. He grew up in Las Vegas, NM and then moved to Albuquerque. Abelino proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Abelino was a truck driver and retired from Santa Fe Trails. He loved to travel and was an outdoors man. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Sanchez and brother Esmenio Sanchez. He is survived by his children; Diane Espinosa, Betty Sanchez - Newland and husband Phil, Kathy Sanchez, Neal Sanchez, Rick Sanchez, and Michelle Herrera and husband Gerald. He is also survived by his grandchildren; John Espinosa, Matthew Espinosa, Alyce Herrera, Felicia Sanchez and Luke Herrera; his sister Angie Sandoval and husband Al, and sister-in-law Estella Sanchez, also surviving numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be John Espinosa, Matthew Espinosa, Luke Herrera, Alan Sandoval, Alvin Sandoval and George Montoya.
