It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Adam Benavidez.
Adam was raised in Corrales, NM. He attended Cibola High School where he wrestled and took Shop and Metals. The skills he learned led him to a career in the trades. He was a plumber/pipefitter/ orbital welder for the local 412 union. Adam loved adventure. He loved crewing for the hot air ballon “Miss Shenanigans”. He loved the outdoors. Adam was an avid hunter and fisherman. His prized bear rug Yogi hangs proudly on the wall of the cabin. He loved to hunt with friends from West Virginia, North Carolina and Virginia, who brought their hounds.
Adam never met a stranger. His quick wit and sense of humor had everyone laughing constantly. He had many stories and no matter how many times you heard them, they never got old. Adam loved travelling with his wife and parents. He loved going to watch his daughter Molly play volleyball. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family. His trout almondine and Philly cheesesteaks were legendary. He was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the task. He especially enjoyed doing projects with his dad in the backyard.
Adam is survived by his mother, Virginia, father, Luis, wife, Jennifer, his daughters, Molly and Alexis, his grandchildren, Carson, Everleigh, and Olivia, his stepsons, Gabe and Andrew, his siblings, Katrina (Red), Martin (Jennifer) and Bianca, his nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, April 5, 2025, at 10:30 with burial at Vista Verde Memorial Park to follow.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Vincent de Paul Charities.
Adam may be gone from our sight, but he will forever be in our hearts.
