Addie Louise Heffington Cooper

January 4, 1939 — June 29, 2024

Albuquerque

Addie Louise Heffington Cooper made her final transition the morning of June 29, 2024, after a protracted battle with her health, when angels embraced her and welcomed her to eternal peace in heaven. Though she spent the majority of her life in El Paso, TX, after being born in Elk City, OK, and living as a child in New Mexico, Louise spent her final decade at her new home in Albuquerque, NM, where she and her husband of 68 years, Jerry Cooper, moved to be closer to most of their family. They enjoyed the company of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Jason McNicol (19), Joelle Rodgers (19), and Jeremy McNicol (8), who affectionately called her their Nana.

Louise is survived by her husband Jerry, sister Connie (Jones) and husband Donald, daughter Janet (McNicol) and husband Bob, daughter Judy (Bracknell) and husband Kevin, son Jeffrey, and her two grandchildren Joshua and Bradley with his wife Emily. She is preceded in death by her father Harold Ray Heffington and her mother Wanda Glee Wells Heffington Barth Heffington.

Louise lived her life fully, initially becoming a exceptional professional seamstress before earning a B.S. at UT El Paso in Education and an M.Ed. in Education Administration at Sul Ross University, teaching hundreds of children and becoming a Principal. She left this earth wishing that her children and progeny would find love, joy, and safety in this changing world and that everyone would unite in love and peace. While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. In Louise's final thoughts, she shared her love for all those whom she loved so very much, her immediate and extended family and friends.

Louise's  Memorial will be on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Netherwood Park church of Christ. (5101 Indian School Rd., Albuquerque, NM 87110).
