Malone, Adeline "Swede"
Age 91, was born in Red Wing, MN on July 3, 1923, to William Christian and Lily Caroline (Matzdorff) Hintz. Our matriarch and family firecracker moved on from this world following complications of a stroke on Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Russell Malone; five siblings, Marvin Hintz, Arlin Hintz, Thelma Willits, Evelyn Austin, William Hintz, Jr. Adeline is survived by her five children, Michael Malone (Sally), Melodie Charles (John),Terry Malone (Susan), Kevin Malone (Melia), Dawn Malone (Robert Montoya). She also shared her life and love with 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She leaves behind beloved extended family as well. Close to her heart were her nieces, Billie Sue Willits-Kelly, and Jacque Willits; nephew Vernon C. (Skip) Willits, III. Whether you knew her as Momma, Grammi, Gigi, Granny Budlight or Swede, she made a joyful impact. We love her so. Her happy life included many good friends of our family. She found great joy and comfort living with Melodie and John. Her grandson, Will Charles (Jessica Trujillo) was especially good at making her laugh and including her in their circle of close lifelong friends. Her granddaughter, Mackenzie Layne Montoya (Mac-z as Grammi called her) had a special bond with her Grammi. When small, her Grammi taught her the 50 states with every quarter from each state. Grammi also taught her how to take dead nasty bugs and mount them on cardboard. While now a young adult, Mac-z and Grammi continue to have a unique and very close bond. Swede's great-grandson, Dempsey Sachs, shares her birthday. Momma had a full adventurous life. She suffered, endured, triumphed over breast and lung cancer. She was independent and cantankerous in the very best way till the end. She had the most beautiful sky blue eyes that saw life from a very special view. Our lives will be dimmer without her. We will carry on our love for her through our own lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren. A very special thanks to the staff at The Rio Las Estancias and to the wonderful care provided by Presbyterian Hospice Services for Mom. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 10, 2014 at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Adeline's honor to the Animal Humane Society.
