Aggie was born September 20, 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Guadalupe and Nestora (Ortiz) Lopez. She was baptized October 3, 1948 at San Jose Catholic Church, Albuquerque, NM. She was married to Steven Schaefer (deceased)on January 30, 1971. She later in life found companionship with Jimmie D. Vick. Her children were her many nieces and nephews. Her pet cat, Baby Tiger, was the queen of the home, but Aggie fed and cared for all the neighbor’s cats, as well. She was a devoted cyclist in spinning class, donated to every charity imaginable and met with her loyal group of friends once a month. Aggie graduated from Rio Grande High School, Class of 1966. She furthered her education at Albuquerque Technical-Vocational Institute, graduating on July 7, 1967 as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She was not only a nurse, but a GOOD nurse for 53 years taking care of others at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque where she retired in 2007. Aggie never met a stranger; she actually had a zillion friends. Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gabriel and Anna Lopez of Los Lunas, Abran and Jenny Lopez of Albuquerque, and her brother, Jesse Lopez of Albuquerque; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances (Lopez) and Bill Griego, of Albuquerque, Lupita (Lopez) and Joe Aranda, of Albuquerque, and Maria Nestora (Saavedra) and John Fasano, of Rio Rancho and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.
