Agnes Park Murphy

MURPHY -Agnes Park Murphy, age 92, long time resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, February 12, 2009 in Lakewood, CO, where she had recently moved. She is survived by her son, Ralph Murphy and wife Sue, of Waukesha, WI; granddaughter, Dena and her husband Scott, and two great grandchildren, Jackson and McKenna of Lakewood, CO; daughter-in-law, Gail Murphy; 3 nieces and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Anthony E. Murphy; her parents, David Moore Park and Agnes Walkinshaw Park; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Agnes was born in Buffalo, NY on September 11, 1916, and lived there until her marriage in 1936. Agnes and Tony began their married life by moving to Albuquerque, where they owned and operated Typewriter Service Company from 1940 until retirement in 1976. Agnes was a superb cook and loved entertaining family and friends. She and Tony enjoyed their travels to Mexico, Hawaii, Europe, and home to New York. She especially loved visits to England and Scotland to see her favorite cousins. Her quiet wisdom, gentle manner, kind spirit, and delightful sense of humor will be missed by all.
