Agnes M. Pena

Pena-Candelaria-Black, Agnes M. Loving mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born in San Pedro, NM to Joseph and Teresita Black. She married Eloy Candelaria in 1944 and for many years lived in the Barelas neighborhood. Agnes was widowed and later married Abelicio Pena of Grants, NM where they lived until last year. Agnes was very outgoing, fun loving and had an infectious personality who adored her family and loved spending time with them. She was involved in politics and Senior center activities. She loved to dance and laugh. Agnes is survived by her only son, Eloy Canderlaria Jr. and wife Karen; brothers, Clarence Black and wife Gloria and Santiago Black; sisters, Terry Flores-Baca, Frances Carrillo and husband Silve, Patricia Esterly and husband Robert; numerous nieces; nephews, extended family and friends. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels Friday, February 15, 2013 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm; Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Agnes will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
