Alexander "Alex" James Jackson

Alexander “Alex” James Jackson passed away on March 10, 2021 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at the age of 15.

Alex is survived by his mother, Abbie Jackson of Taos, NM; father and step mother, Todd and Tiffany Jackson of Albuquerque, NM; sister and brother in law, Hope Dotey and Malcom Dotey of Albuquerque, NM, sisters Mariah Ocanas of Los Lunas, NM, and Hannah Mares of Albuquerque, NM; step-brother, Aaron Barrell; grandparents, Jesse and Patti Mares of Mora, NM and Jim and Cathy Jackson of Belen, NM; aunt, Ruthie Castellon of Rio Rancho, NM; aunt and uncle, Emily and Jerrod Rowlison-Elliot of Taos, NM; cousin, Jessie and Bryan Maes of Albuquerque, NM; niece and nephew, Xavier and Aniyah Dotey of Albuquerque, NM; 8 cousins Nicole Mares, Jonathan Boyd, Chloe Montoya, Sophia Castellon, Alfred Kahsin, and Hayley Garrett, and 2 dogs; Shadow and Go-Go.

Alex was born on March 2, 2006 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Todd and Abbie Jackson. He attended Cibola High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2011, he was a BMX State Champion. In 2016, he won MVP for offense and defense in football.

Alex marched to the beat of his own drum. He was a natural born leader and lived his life completely fearless. Even from a very young age he pushed the limits. Alex was a master escape artist and had a will and a spirit that could not be contained by rules or boundaries. Alex will be remembered for his kind spirit, his generous nature, his sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and wily charm.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday March 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at Tower Road Baptist Church – 601 86th St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. A candle light vigil will be held in his honor on Friday March 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM at 500 Country Club Dr. SE Rio Rancho NM, 87124.
