Baca, Alexander  Jr.
Age 71, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Antonio, NM on June 5, 1945 to Alexander and Eva Serna Baca. Alexander graduated from Socorro High School. He was employed with UNM, and in 2005 he retired after 35 years of service. He was a man of great faith. He was also a very generous man, making regular donations to The United Way, Unicef and  Franciscans. Above all, Alexander was very devoted to his family. He had a great sense of humor, loved babysitting his grandchildren, playing his guitar and feeding pigeons. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary M. Baca; daughter, Maryann V. Baca; brothers, Ben Baca, David Baca, Joe Baca and Reyme Baca; and sister, Librada Armijo. Alexander is survived by his devoted children, Bernadette V. Griego and husband Jimmy, Eve D. Sanchez and husband Ted, Francine E. Edgin and husband John whom he loved as his own son, Alex J. Baca and wife Kira and April L. Baca and partner Michael Trujillo; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with The Mass of Resurrection to follow at 9:00 am with Celebrant Father John Anasiudu.  Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery  following service. Pallbearers will be John Edgin, Adrian Edgin, Alex J. Baca, Ricky Sanchez, Frankie Armijo and Ted Sanchez.  Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel Sanchez, Alex L. Baca and Isaac Torres.
