Alfred Curtis Morgan

Alfred Curtis Morgan, 87, passed away Jan. 17, 2012 at his home in Albuquerque. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at Christ the King Angilcian Church, 5300 N. 2nd St. NW, Albuquerque. A reception will follow at the church. A.C. Morgan was born and raised in Worland, Wyo. on Jan. 5, 1925. After graduating from Worland High School in 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS San Francisco in the South Pacific during World War ll. He was in communications and aerial reconnaissance. Upon discharge from the Navy after WWll, he returned to Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming. In 1947, he married Hazel Bell Trimmer of Lander, Wyo. They lived many places during their married lives - Lander; Powell, Wyo.; San Francisco, Calif.; Butte, Mont.; Hokuiem, Wash.; Oklahoma City, Okla. and finally Albuquerque, where he moved in 1960. He loved Albuquerque. He finally found his home. He worked in radio in Butte, Mont. and Worland, Wyo. He became a systems engineer and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Albuquerque. He helped with the first installation of a computer there. Two children were born of this marriage. He and Hazel were later divorced. He married Alice Minor in 1978. They were married for 30 years. After his retirement, he and Alice bought rental property and he had a second career managing and maintaining the properties. He was the ultimate handy man, as he could fix and repair anything. He and Alice were also able to travel abroad together. Their last trip was a cruise to the Panama Canal. When Alice became ill in 2008, Al took care of her until her death. He spent the last few years going on a cruise, seeing his grandchild graduate and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed talking about politics with his daughter, Janice. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leon Morgan, sister Harriet Hixsenbaugh and sister-in-law Modelle Morgan. He is survived by his sister Phoebe Trimmer of Sheridan, Wyo.; brother Oyer Morgan of East Helena, Mont.; his son Michael T. Morgan of Spokane, Wash.; daughter Janice Bray and husband J.L. of Laramie, Wyo.; stepsons Steven Miner and wife Linda of El Paso, Texas; Kevin Miner and wife Sandy of Albuquerque; grandchildren Katie, Jake and Kelsey Bray, Riley and Ryan Miner, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Daniels Family Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming, NE, Albuquerque. Donations may be made to The National Parkinson��?�s Foundation.
