Age 45, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Socorro, NM on March 4, 1969, to Fidel "Willie" and Dora Garcia Torres, the youngest of four children. Alfred enjoyed fishing and was an avid Oakland Raider fan. He was employed by New Mexico Tech as a carpenter for the last 10 years until he became to ill to work. Alfred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his stepson, Kevin Gonzales. Alfred is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Christina Soto Torres; his parents; his brothers, Arthur Torres and wife, Valerie, Leonard Torres, and Ambrose "Pete" Torres and wife, Bella; stepdaughter, Jennifer Gonzales; many nieces and nephews.
Rosary to be recited on Monday, February 23, 2015, at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro with Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Celebrant Father Andrew Pavlak. Burial will take place at San Miguel Catholic Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Leonard Torres, Arthur Torres, Ambrose "AJ" Torres Jr., Michael Torres, Manuel Torres, Brian Tafoya and Jesus Colenero.
