lice Faye Lewis Odom, 99, of Farmington, died on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, in Farmington. She was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Loving, to Joseph Lewis and Sarah F. Pettit.
During her younger years, she moved frequently with her family due to her father's job as a water-well driller. She married, had four children and settled in Farmington. Alice and her husband owned and operated a country store called Clint's Grocery in Farmington. In her later years, Alice moved to the reservation and worked for numerous trading posts. Upon her retirement, years later, she returned to Farmington where she enjoyed her favorite hobby of gardening. She lived her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Odom; sons, Glen Dale Odom, Otha Clint Odom and Neldon Lloyd Odom; her parents; brothers, Amos Lewis, Houston Lewis and Reno Lewis; sister, Jewel Lewis Bell; and one grandchild.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Barbara F. (Winford) Odom Miller and Genelda Odom; sister, Cecil Lewis Pool; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec, 405 S. Main Ave., (505) 334-9332. Jack Moore will officiate.
Interment will immediately follow the funeral services at the Aztec Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Zachary Miller, Kory McQuitty, Joshua Miller, Jesse Whitaker, Tyrell Whitaker, TC Whitaker, Taylor Whitaker and Casey Morrow.
