Moore, Alice Pauline (Ridings) Age 82, returned home to the arms of our Lord on January 28, 2013. She was born in Alva, OK on October 31, 1930 to Paul P. and Fern E. (Stratton) Ridings. Pauline and her high school sweetheart, Carl Moore Jr., were wed on December 25, 1950. After a four year U.S. Navy enlistment and graduation from UNM Pharmacy College, the Moores moved to Socorro in 1963 to own and operate the Hilton Pharmacy for many years. Her parents and Carl's parents, Carl Sr. and Fontella Moore were well known long time residents of Socorro. Pauline was a very talented and creative lady. She spent many years designing and assembling stained glass treasures, hand stitching numerous quilts, crochet and knitted creations, and hand weaving countless yards of beautiful fabric. A gifted cook, she planned and served outstanding meals and festive delights for her family and friends. Pauline was a devoted member of local Chapter M, P.E.O. sisterhood for 49 years. She was also an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Her grandchildren loved their "Gran Alice". They enjoyed summer at her house, filled with many adventures and memories of popping popcorn to feed the ducks, jaunts to Water Canyon for a picnic, fishing trips to Quemado Lake, Bonita Lake, and Greer, AZ or picking up crab apples in the front yard for a nickel. A special memory is celebrating July 4th in the yard to watch the fireworks from the best seat in town, while eating homemade ice cream topped with her homemade hot chocolate sauce. ..........Gran Alice, let me tell you something I want you to know.......... "There may be an infinite number of stars in the night sky, But only one shines bright enough to touch each of our hearts. Gran Alice, you are the star shining night after night, so bright. Your star, your soul, will be seen forever MOORE." Pauline is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Carl Moore Jr.; her three children, Karla Moore, Paul Moore and wife, Brenda, Michael Moore and wife, Susanna; nine grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Katrina Smith, Jamie Falcon, Jacqueline Ulrich, Katlyn Moore, and Daniel, Jonathan, Sarah and Matthew Moore; two great grandchildren, Kasia'h and Ireland Morales; her sister, Maebeth Guyton and husband, Robert; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
