Alice May Schweninger (nee Hill), beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on May 29, 2014, in Albuquerque, NM. Alice was born in Independence, MO, on January 11, 1930. She and her family moved to Boulder when Alice was a young teenager. She attended Boulder High School and rode her horses in the foothills. Alice met her future husband, Ivan Schweninger, when she was working at the diner counter of Walgreens downtown and he was attending CU. Alice obtained a teaching certificate from CU and taught for many years at Bertha Heid Elementary in Thornton. In 2002 she moved to Albuquerque, NM. She enjoyed many years of retirement surrounded by her beloved Cocker Spaniels, doing the things she loved most, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. Alice is survived by her children, Ann Rader and her husband Ron of Ancram, NY; Lee Schweninger of Wilmington, NC; Mary Quinn and Jan Swan of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchild, Hunter Streit of Boulder; her stepson Loren Schweninger and his wife Patricia of Greensboro, NC, as well as their children John, Michael, Jimmy, and Emily, and her great grandchild Eli. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles Hill who lives in Portugal with is wife Iris, and Donald Hill of Carson City, NV. She was a good friend to her children and is loved and missed.
