Alicia Rose Treat
March 19, 1989 – May 27, 2020
Alicia Rose was an incredible person that was loved by many, and who will be cherished and terribly missed by all who knew her.
Alicia was born in Stockton, California on March 19, 1989, being the eldest daughter of Diana and Vernon Treat. When she was young, her family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and later settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Alicia would spend her childhood here, making many lifetime friends, and graduating from Rio Rancho High School in 2007. She loved being a member of the marching band, where she played the drums and continued her love for music for years to come.
She was the shining light in all of our lives. Between her bright red hair and beaming soul, she lit up every room that she walked into. Her confidence and attitude were contagious, and she always had a way of making people feel special.
She loved to travel the world with her best friends Juanita and Tasha, where she loved to explore new places, attend conventions and expos, and her favorite activity, hunting for castles! Always finding a special treasure or trinket to bring home to remember her travels. Her favorite places were wherever she was with her favorite people.
Her family and friends were everything to her. She loved being “Nini” to her favorite nephew, Benny. She loved spoiling her younger cousins, and it was rare for her to miss Saturday night United Soccer Games with the Ortiz Clan. She loved going to the lake and camping. She looked forward to every road trip, going to the drag races with her mom, dancing on 80s night with her best friends, Dom and Kevin, and going to Disneyland, where she loved being called Ariel. Alicia truly had the best of the best in her life.
She was very passionate about the most current beauty trends, making frequent trips to Sephora with one of her best friends, Dani. She and her sister, Tina, would spend quality time doing each other’s hair and makeup. She loved spending time hanging out with her mom, and not a day went by without talking to her. She had recently moved into a cute house with one of her best friends, August, who nurtured her green thumb. In fact, Alicia had just planted some flowers in the backyard, which began to bloom the week of her passing. Even in her absence, she continues to spread beauty in this world.
She was involved in numerous groups including the Bob-Ombshells and the 501st Legion. She looked forward to waking up early every year for the Balloon Fiesta, helping members of the Dewback Ridge Garrison.
Alicia loved gaming and enjoyed staying up all night playing with her friends, where people knew her as “ALiCiADiZZLe”. She would constantly quote movies and TV shows, making them inside jokes with her closest friends. She was known for her funny “derp” faces and her hilarious one liners.
On May 27, 2020, loved ones that cleared the path for Alicia are her grandparents Geronima and Enriquez Velasquez and Hubert and J Treat, aunt Corrine and uncle Don Ortiz, aunt Carmen and uncle Joe Velasquez, aunt Yolanda Velasquez, aunt Benita Velasquez and many others. She is survived by her parents, Diana and Vernon Treat, sister Christina Treat, favorite nephew Benny, and of course Katie Cobra.
Until we see our beloved Alicia Rose again, we will think about her daily, talk about her constantly, and she will never be forgotten. We will hold her close in our hearts, where she will walk and guide us through our lives and be forever our favorite guardian angel.
We are eternally grateful for each moment and every memory that we were lucky enough to share with Alicia. The footprint that she left on this Earth is just as big as her loving heart. She lived life to the fullest, and had no regrets. Keep those memories alive by celebrating Alicia and the beautiful life that she lived.
We love you and will miss you every day.
