Chavez, Alisandro "Tiger"
Age 92, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Socorro, NM. He was born in Lemitar, NM on February 13, 1923, to Evangal and Isabel Marquez Chavez. Tiger was a life long resident of Socorro County. He enjoyed deer hunting with his brothers and enjoyed life to the fullest. Tiger served his country in the US Army during WW II. He retired from the New Mexico National Guard in 1983 as a Staff Sergeant. He worked for New Mexico Tech in Socorro for over 30 years before retiring. Tiger was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchidren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Chavez; his parents; brothers, Ramon, Abenicio, Nestor, Robert and Dennis Chavez; sister, Stella Chavez; and great grandson, Paul Foulenfont Jr.  Tiger is survived by daughter, Gloria Foulenfont and husband, George; son, Alisandro "Alex" Chavez, Jr. and wife, Elaine; foster son, Joe Benavidez; sister, Deluvina Padilla; grandchildren, Alex Chavez III, Dominic Chavez, Victor Chavez, Julia Aguilar, George A. Foulenfont, Maria Foulenfont, Paul Foulenfont, Nicole Padilla and Ashly Gonzales; great grandchildren, Adrian Scott, Adriana Foulenfont, A. J. Foulenfont, Isaac Foulenfont, Devin Foulenfont, Marianda Romero, Alexis Chavez, Alex Chavez IV, Christian Lopez, Deekota Chavez, Kaade Chavez, Koltton Chavez, Ashlyn Aguilar, Alyssa Aguilar, Victor Chavez Jr., and Isaiah Chavez; great great grandchildren, Shante Foulenfont, Constance Foulenfont, Elijah Rico, Josiah Foulenfont, A. J. Foulenfont Jr., Lena Foulenfront, Selena Murillo, Adrian Foulenfont Jr., and Taile Romero.  Graveside services were held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the San Miguel Cemetery.
