Alvin A. Cynova of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, son of the late Andrew and Alice Cynova, quietly died in his sleep on November 8th. He is survived by wife Jean (of 73 years), son Tom of Afton, Wyoming, daughter Debbie of Rio Rancho, NM, 6 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Alvin was born in Baileyboro, Texas and grew up in central NM. He worked for several years on the family farm in Flora Vista, NM and married Jean Johnson of Aztec, NM in 1946. After the farm, he worked for Southern Union Gas and then went to work for Kerr-McGee Corporation in Shiprock, NM in 1957. He was transferred to the plant in Soda Springs, Idaho in 1963 where he worked his way up to plant superintendent before retiring in 1993. He and Jean enjoyed traveling around to see family in the USA and Europe. He liked fishing and golfing and playing cards with Jean.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings (2 brothers and 2 sisters). He was a member of the Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM where the funeral Mass will be held on November 18th at 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary prior to the Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow.
