Gallegos, Amado
Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, entered peacefully into eternal rest at sunset on Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was born on November 24, 1948, Thanksgiving Day,   to Frank and Adela Gallegos on the family ranch, just east of San Antonio, NM. Amado graduated from Socorro High School and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Army from 1969 -1971. He married the love of his life, Claudette, on November 15, 1971. He and Claudette owned and operated  their farm in Luis Lopez since 1980. In 2003, Amado retired  from UPS after 25 years of devoted service. He was a simple and hardworking man. He enjoyed his life and work on the farm and found great pride in raising his cattle. He was an avid Lobo fan. Amado never met a stranger and if you had a good joke to share, well then, you were his friend for life. More than anything else, Amado greatest joy was his family, he was their great man, guiding light, bravest hero and the memories of him will forever be cherished and never forgotten.  He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his brother, Pete Gallegos, his nephew, Kenneth Armijo, and his niece Joye Lynn Brawley. Amado is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Claudette (Foard) Gallegos; his devoted children, Arlinda Coronado and husband, Eduardo; and Daniel Gallegos and wife, Connie; his brothers, Augustine Gallegos and wife, Leyla; Pat Gallegos; Johnny Gallegos and wife, Larrie; and Frank Gallegos; his sisters, Maria Alba; Cecelia Romero and husband, Isidro; and Mela Armijo; sisters in law, Rosalie Gallegos; and Mary Gallegos; brother in law, Claud Foard and wife, June; his mother in law, Peggy Hutcherson; and many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and close friends.
