Anastacio H. Peña, loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 01, 2020 at the age of 83. He was born in Deming, New Mexico to Anastacio M. and Aurora Peña. Anastacio graduated from Deming High School. Anastacio was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Throughout his career, he worked with NASA at White Sands Missile Range, the NM State Capital where he was the lead Facilities Engineer, the Los Alamos National Laboratories, the State of NM Mobile Housing Inspectors Office and the NM Department of Corrections where he retired and received several awards on his accomplishments.
Anastacio adored his family and was very proud of his children. He loved the outdoors and excelled as a fisherman and big game hunter. He often shared his many adventures telling stories of hunting and fishing to his family, friends and those that would listen. Anastacio had a way of building solid long-standing friendships and relationships, earning and giving respect. Anastacio was very resourceful. Even at times with limited means, he was a great master planner with excellent problem solving skills at all levels. He was successful at everything he strived to achieve.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio M. and Aurora Peña and his youngest son Curtis I. Peña. Anastacio is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Trujillo Peña; children, Anastacio S. and wife Victoria Peña of Rio Rancho NM, Stan A. and wife Stacey Peña of Amarillo TX, Cynthia M. Peña of Rio Rancho NM, Christopher and wife Elizabeth Peña of Eagle Pass TX, grandchildren, Noelle and Robert Garcia, Victor and Kaitlin Peña, Marcos and Sarah Peña, Alex and Andres Melgoza, Nova Peña and Rogelio Calderon, Roxi Peña, Shevonne Peña, Leah Peña, Vanessa Peña, Kasey and wife Denise Flores, Justin Flores, Joann Mercure, Jolene and Julian Money, Victoria Peña and Michael Naranjo and a total of 18 great grandchildren.
Rosary to be recited on Friday, September 4, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020, 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho 87124.
Interment will follow at 11:45 AM, Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
Pallbearers will be Michael Naranjo, Edward Lovato, Marcos S. Peña, Victor J. Pena, Kasey R. Flores, Justin R. Flores.
Honorary Bearers are Rogelio Calderon, Nova Peña, Shevonne Peña, Noel Garcia, Ernest Chavez, Clarence Lucero.
