Andrea Dawn Gurule Maestas

Andrea Dawn Gurule Maestas, age 44, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 29, 1980. She passed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in Cuba, New Mexico. She was a lifelong resident of Cuba. She leaves behind her three beautiful children, Joshua Maestas, Mariah Maestas (Jennifer), Santiago Maestas, and the father of her children, Ubaldo K. Maestas. She is also survived by her parents Bobby and Debra Gurule, sister Lindy Gurule, brother Matthew Gurule, and grandmother Bonnie Hardy of Wichita, Kansas.

Andrea is preceded in death by her grandparents Aparcio and Lucy Gurule of Cuba and James Hardy of Wichita, Kansas. 

Andrea is a graduate of Cuba High School and worked in the community of Cuba in many capacities, including the Magistrate Court, AMI Kids, and Cuba Independent Schools. She took classes at Central New Mexico Community College and completed the courses to be admitted into the Nursing Program.

Andrea was a member of First Baptist Church of Cuba where she was baptized. She served and assisted in many activities there including Vacation Bible School and choir in her younger years. 

Services for Andrea will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, viewing at 10:00 a.m. service at 11:00a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuba with internment at the First Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Sam Gurule, Isaac Montoya, Chris Gurule, BJ Montoya, Gabriel Maestas, and Angelo Lovato. Honorary pallbearers are Renee Gurule-Gutierrez, Vanessa Kilroy, Janell Hardy, Chelsey Stephens, and Jessica Hardy.
