Andrew Morgan Brown, 75, passed away January 17, 2013. He was born October 18, 1937 in Gallup, New Mexico. Andy was preceded in death by his parents John H. Brown and Rosa Lee Davis; stepfather Hershel Lee Davis; brother, John Brown, and wife Dorothy. Andy is survived by his daughter, Lora Lee and husband Dan Dunlap; daughter, Andrea and husband Paul Holt; son, Scot Brown; sisters, Vedith Clark and Carlene Burnett; eight grandchildren, Cari, Adam and wife SarahJess, Amanda Dunlap, Rachel and Rebekah Holt, Dominic Torres, Jesse and Justin Brown, and great grandson Morgan Dunlap. Andy graduated from Valley High School in 1955 and served in the Army for three years. Andy was a skilled machinist and carpenter, and an accomplished handyman and craftsman. He enjoyed working with leather and was known for setting up an elaborate model train display each Christmas. Andy had a long career as a turbine engineer for the utility company Jesco, and later for General Electric, from which he retired in 1994. His work was a great source of pride, and he was tirelessly driven to provide for his family. The memorial service will be Saturday, January 19 at 4:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 215 University NE. The family would like to extend their thanks for all the love and support of family and friends, and especially to the nurses and staff of Ambercare hospice, who provided much tender comfort and care to Andy in his last several months.
