Angel Marie Brewer

It is with profound sadness to announce the sudden passing of Angel Marie Brewer, age 66, on September 14, 2024, at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque NM. Angel was born April 3, 1958 in Yakima, Washington, to Jess and Sandra Hudgens. She moved to Wenatchee after high school. Angel worked in fruit packing sheds before starting her career in healthcare working the nightshift at Colonial Vista Nursing Center. It was while working At Colonial Vista she met her future husband, James. The two dated for a brief time before marrying in December of 1985. Angel then decided to become a homemaker after the birth of their first child together, Jaime. In 1992, Angel went back to school where she studied and earned her GED. She then worked towards a degree in carpentry. In 1994, James and Angel moved with to Albuquerque. Once in Albuquerque, Angel went back to being a caregiver. She also worked on numerous housing remodels and landscaping projects. Angel took pride in a good day’s work, in all her years of hard work she rarely took a day off.

Angel was known for her feisty spirit and her hard work ethic. She enjoyed crafting, remodeling houses, working outdoors and always had the nicest yard around. Angel loved being a mother and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed having us all get together for holidays and family gatherings. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, she was the glue that held the family together. She will be forever loved and missed.

Angel was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her sister Annette, her brother Richard, her granddaughter Jerica, and best friend Deborah. Angel was survived by her husband James Brewer and her 7 children and 6 grandchildren. Lisa and husband Fernando Sanchez, Tracy and husband Steven Romero, Amy Lopez, Jamie Brewer, Jacob Brewer and fiancé Celeste Prieto, Jenna Brewer and Jarrod Brewer and his girlfriend Marie Montoya . Angel’s grandchildren: Ryan and Alyssa Sanchez, Annalisa and Maya Romero, and Felicia and Matthew Lopez, her mother Sandra Whitaker, all of Albuquerque. Angel is survived by her father Jess and mother Guadalupe Hudgens of Washington and sisters: Jesse, Janie, Loretta, Maryann, Sandy, Tammy, and brother Earl.
