Anita R. Martinez

MARTINEZ- Anita R. Martinez, 54, a resident of Corrales, NM passed away March 11, 2011. She is survived by her significant other of 26 years, Joe Tilton; daughter, Angela Tomer; son, Alex Tomer; sister, Diane Martinez; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by parents, Emiliano and Lupita Martinez; and brother, Leonard Martinez. Anita loved gardening. She spent many hours working in her garden and was especially proud of her tomato plants. She loved hummingbirds and had many feeders on her back porch. Anita loved reading, cooking, music, and enjoyed making people happy. She also was kind, loving and had a funny personality. She was loved by all who knew her and will be terribly missed. We would like to take this time to give a special thank you to Renee Grant for all the love, compassion, hard work and dedication. Giving so effortlessly of her time and herself in assisting with the care of Anita. Also, we would like to thank Emily Martinez and Elsie Gallegos for taking charge and eagerly willing and assisting with the care of Anita with such love, tenderness and concern. Thank you to all the family and friends for all the love and concern you expressed. We are blessed and honored to be loved by so many. A special thank you to Dr. Jill Slominski and all other doctors and staff at Presbyterian Hospital for the warmth, understanding and patience they showed for Anita. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at San Ysidro Catholic Church, Corrales, NM. Interment will follow services at San Ysidro Cemetery, Corrales, NM. Pallbearers will be Jerry Martinez, Frankie Gallegos, Anthony Sanchez, Pat Gallegos, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joseph Martinez, Junior Stevens, Raymond Martinez, and Mike Tilton.
