Anita McFearin

Anita McFearin, age 77, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She went peacefully at home and will be missed by all who ever had the benefit of meeting and knowing her. Anita was known for her generosity, her dedication to her values, and most of all, to teaching those around her. She loved her big cats, anyone’s dog, her basketball and football, her books, her family, and her students (not always in that order). When Anita taught she was the teacher you didn’t want to get, but every student she taught thought the opposite at the end. She graciously gave her time, her energy, and her spirit to everything she did, and she benefited so many lives. 

 She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 57 years, Dan; her children, Chris and Cathryn; her grandchildren, Kyel, Emi, and Sami; and her sister Elaine. Also missing her will be the numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, a great great nephew, close friends, the hundreds of students she taught, and her neighbors and community of people she interacted with everyday.

 Anita was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Annie Sue Harrison, brother-in-law Tommy Massey, and nephew Rusty Massey. 

 A service will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM with visitation and reception to follow until 1:30 PM. The location for the visitation, service, and reception is Daniels Family Funerals & Cremation - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. A graveside gathering for the family will be at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113.
