Anjelina Mikayla Romero

November 11, 2015 — February 28, 2022

She was the heartbeat and soul of the Romero family. It is with profound sadness and broken hearts
that we bid our earthly goodbye to one of our youngest but certainly one of the most most valued and
cherished members of our family. On the afternoon of Monday, February 28th, 2022 , our angel,
Anjelina Mikayla left this earth and entered the kingdom of our Lord. As devastated as we all are, we
felt comfort in knowing that her grandpa Bernie was waiting for her with an open embrace to join him
in God's kingdom. She was his “Trailblazer” and truly owned his heart. Never a day went by without
his morning visit next door to see how his “chickadee” was doing. When she was a baby he always had
a treat hidden in his coat pocket and they would make a game out of her finding her treat. Her earthly
remains will be laid next to her grandfather.

Anjelina was an outgoing and precocious child who never met a stranger. Her outgoing personality
and radiant smile drew people of all ages to her. Older family members enjoyed listening to her antics
and stories of how she manipulated her older siblings Abby and Tuco (Augustin Jr.) into complying
with her wishes, whether that be watching a movie with her older sister or conning her big brother to
play with her. One of her favorite past times was engaging in wrestling matches with her siblings
which turned into tickling sessions leaving her in squeals of delight and laughter. Her best friend and
constant companion was her brother Alejandro who is two years older. They could be seen leaving for
school in the morning with their uncle Goyo who gave them a ride every morning and is like a second
father and whom she loved dearly. She could always count on her uncle Bernie to stop what he was
doing to give her a ride on his motor bike or four wheeler. In the afternoons she could be seen getting
off the school bus swinging her backpack at her brother Alejandro and racing to the front door. This
was Anjelina's first year in school and when asked who her teacher was she proudly and with great
affection would reply “Miss Melanie”! There are many of us left behind to grieve this beautiful
child, too many to list but none more center and important than her father, Augustin. She was the
sunshine on his face and the twinkle in his eye. She was his baby. He is left without her but his heart is
forgiving. We pray for God's strength to give him comfort and peace.

Anjelina is predeceased by her grandfather, Bernie Romero. She is survived by her father Augustin
Romero. Her mother, Kristen Ashlock. Older sister, Abby, brother, Augustin Jr. (Tuco) and brother and
best friend, Alejandro. She also leaves behind her beloved Nana, Velma Wolfel who she loved to
snuggle and spend nights with. She is survived by her aunts, Carolina Romero and Felicia Armstrong
who she loved and looked up to. Her uncles, Gregorio Romero and Bernie Romero Jr. Her friend, and
second cousin, Annaliyah who was her playmate at school and at family gatherings. All other extended
family including uncles, great uncles, aunts, great aunts and many, many cousins. We count our
blessings and are grateful for the six years in which she enriched our lives. God send us strength.
Godspeed our “Lina's”! You took our hearts with you!!
