Age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her home in Socorro, NM with her family at her side. She was born in Frankfort, MI on October 7, 1938, to Chester and Marie (Fredrickson) Hansen. Her ancestors coming from Norway and Sweden, Ann was very proud of her Scandinavian decent. She graduated from Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces, NM in 1956. She met and married a local farmer's son, Jerry Kull and they had three children, Ed, Larry and Beth. They moved to Israel and while there, Jerry passed away. As a single mother, Ann returned to Las Cruces to raise her children, working at New Mexico State University and earning a Bachelors of Science degree in education in 1973. Ann's career in financial matters included Cochise College at Douglass, AZ, College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM, and Dallas University in Irving, TX. In Oct. of 1988 she married Ray G. Abbott in Dallas and opened her heart and life to his four children. Ann and Ray moved to Socorro in Oct. of 1991 so she could accept the position of Financial Director of New Mexico Tech. She held that position for 9 years. After retiring in 2000, Ann and Ray lived, loved and laughed cruising the world. Ann was loving, witty and wise in the ways of money. She was indeed a beautiful person. Ann is survived by husband, Ray Abbott; her children, Ed and wife, Laurie, Larry, and Beth and husband, Jesus; stepchildren, Ray G. Abbott Jr. and his family, and Sandra Abbott; grandchildren, Melissa Rompel and husband, Tommy, Sara Kull, Jerry Kull, Tony Lopez and Alicia Lopez; great grandchildren, Dominic Romero and Lillian Rain Kull. She is survived by a large and loving family who will miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016, 2:00 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro.
