Anna S. Andreassen

ANDREASSEN - Anna S. Andreassen, 90, passed away May 28, 2011. Long time resident of Rio Rancho, NM, Anna spent her life as a care-taker and nurturer of children, passing along a sense of compassion and respect for nature through multiple generations of many families. Survivor of the Great Depression and WWII, Anna emigrated from Switzerland to become a U.S. citizen at age 16. She was an avid gardener, and a cheerful, kind and generous spirit who loved the sun. Always an adventurer, Anna could be found taking long walks in the mesa even during the week before her death. Anna was a devout Catholic and above all, a good and faithful friend to many around the world. She was loved and will be missed. A Rosary will be recited at Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011.
