AnnaMae Latham Johnson Bishop
Born on July 21, 1929 in Farmington, NM to Elward and Lena Latham. She passed away at the family home in Cuba, NM on April 26, 2012. A graveside service was conducted in Regina, NM. AnnaMae is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Bishop, children Plemon Johnson (Beverly), Paulette Ball (David), Richard Bishop (Tracy),Michelle Johnson, Eldon Johnson, Debbie Toepher (Bill) and Sharon Freelove. Nephew, Elden Latham (Charlotte). Sisters Helen Wasson, Bessie Buie, Alene Lasster (Harold), brothers George Latham (Lynn)and William Latham. Grandchildren, Shelby Ball (Tanya), Charlene Williams (Craig), Lori Ann Gardner (Roy), Lena Bates (Randall), Lauren Bishop, Carley Bishop and special grandchildren Jora Sliwinski, Derrick and Haley Latham;. six Great-grandchildren. AnnaMae loved to dance to put your little foot and the schottische. She loved to play cards and embroidery. She taught all of her grandchildren to dance and enjoy life. No one ever told her they were bored, as there was always something to be done. The tender love and care of her lawn and flowers were a testament to her green thumb. She will be remembered for the years as she helped run the Torreon Trading post back in the early 50��?�s (when it was all dirt roads and buckboard wagons), working at the Sandia/Kirtland Air Force Base, as a bookkeeper and owner of the local Midway Lounge and Motel in the 80��?�s. Many a bed are covered with quilts, either crocheted or embroidered that were hand made by AnnaMae. She will be remembered for her special sayings---"Oh, Sugar! "Rip it Out�¦I��?�m fine, fine, fine When you were playing cards�¦You cheated In the words of Ackman " I kellllll you and of course "Take your nice pill as she wagged that little finger. She was a native New Mexican and lived most of her life within 100 miles of Cuba, NM. She fought the long hard battle with cancer for 20 years. Casket Bearers will be Roy Gardner, Randall Bates, Shelby Ball, Austin Bleiker, Craig Williams and Elden Latham. AnnaMae's care has been entrusted to
