Anselmo 'Winky' Montoya, 70, of Aztec, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Farmington. He was born April 21, 1939, in Blanco, NM. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed gardening. Winky was preceded in death by his sons, Larry Montoya and Daniel Montoya. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Anna Montoya; daughter, Isabel Pilling and husband Doug Pilling; sisters, Pauline Gonzales, Irene Jarallio; brothers, Andy (Mary) Montoya, Joe Montoya, Nape Montoya, Gilbert (Pauline) Montoya; grandchildren, Hayden Montoya, and Cody Pilling. My Dad wasn't only my Dad he was my friend. He was very generous and he loved his family more than ever! He had many friends and the reason for that was he knew how to be a friend. He loved his grandkids very much and he will be truly missed. He got such a gift on Father's Day being reunited with his boys!!! If you knew my dad you knew he enjoyed drinking cold beer with his family and friends. My husband Winky was a very private person as his family and close friend knew so well. He made it very clear to us, his family, that he wished to be cremated and laid to rest with our sons, although we did not always agree on this, I feel compelled to honor his last wish. To our friends and family, who adored him as we did - To those who will not see his face one last time, I'm so sorry. Please remember him as he was before his illness and keep him in your prayers that he may rest in Peace. God be with us all. To you my wonderful husband my thanks for taking such good care of our family. My love to you. You will be missed by many.
