Anthony W. Baca

November 2, 1947 — June 12, 2012

Baca, Anthony (Tony) W. Age 64, passed away after a courageous fight with cancer to be with Our Lord June 12, 2012 while surrounded by his family. Tony was a resident of Los Alamos and Chilili, NM. Tony was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War; a recipient of numerous medals and driver to General Westmoreland. He was employed by the Los Alamos Laboratories for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophia Chavez and Salome Baca and sister, Betty Jeanette Sanchez. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 7 years, Veronica Baca Longer, his one true love; four daughters, Pamela Baca, Anna Marie Silva, Antoinette Metheny and husband Keith; Annette Lujan and husband Charles; three stepchildren, Andrew, Daniel and Maria Longer; one brother, Arthur Baca and wife Maggie; five sisters, Louise Teupell and her late husband Ralph, Margaret Saiz and husband Pete, Esther Lucero and husband Charlie, Dorothy Martinez and husband Manuel, Roseann Esquibel and husband Joe; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Rosary will be recited at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras, NM on Friday June 15, 2012 at 7:00 pm; Mass of Christian Burial will also be celebrated at Holy Child Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 am; Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Pete Saiz, C. J. Lucero, Joshua Esquibel, Jachin Escamilla, Martin Ponce and Manuel Martinez, Jr. Honorary Bears are Charlie Lucero, Joe Esquibel, Manuel Martinez and Frank Silva. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gina Gurule, J. Brent Ricks, Esq., the doctors and staff of Vista, CA and UNMH for the special care and attention given to Tony. Garcia Mortuary
