Powell, Anthony "Jaye"
Age 75, was born June 6, 1942 in Joplin Missouri. Was called home to the Lord on October 2, 2017. Most recently a resident of Rio Rancho, NM. Jaye was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, big brother, son, and friend. Jaye was a Navy Vet, a police officer, an air traffic controller, and retired from the University of New Mexico Admissions Office in 2006. Jaye was proceeded in death by his parents, Aaron Melvin Powell and Ruth Elaine Seay, step-father, William Seay, brother, William Thomas Seay. Jaye is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Hutchinson Powell; sons, David Aaron Powell and Daniel Jaye (Leah) Powell; daughters, Deborah Powell Marlow; Diana (Robert) McLaughlin; Jennifer Allyn (Gary) Archibeck; grandchildren, CJ, Andrew, Shelby, Robert Jr., Sunshine, Juliette, Ariel, Juliet, Stephanie, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jesse, and Jolie; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Alexis, Emily, Isabelle, Angelina, Daisy, Cynthia, Zeke, and Jaxson; sisters, Candice Joy Sanchez, Bonnie Cheryl Fleenor, Kay Celeste Brooks, Lisa Alderman, and Nola "Christine" Nelson. Jaye enjoyed, basketball, fishing, football, bowling, softball and golf. He was very proud of his Sports Afield Award in 1969, for landing a trophy rainbow trout. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service. To be held at the Anchor Point Church located at 6751 Pasilla Rd. NE, Rio Rancho 87144 at 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 7, 2017. There will be a viewing in advance of the service at 10:00 am.
