Anthony E. Sedillo

Anthony Ernest Sedillo passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the peace and comfort of his own home. He was called to heaven after a four-year battle with cancer.
Anthony was born on January 17, 1961 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Martha and Tony Sedillo. Anthony became a big brother on May 10, 1966 when his sister Eileen was born. His love of sports began early in his life while playing football and basketball. Anthony graduated from Manzano High School in Albuquerque with the class of 1979.
Unlike most high school graduates, Anthony already knew what his career would be. He attended the University of Albuquerque for two years until he was able to join the Albuquerque Police Academy in 1985. On June 13, 1985 Anthony graduated with the 56th cadet class and became a Sworn Police Officer with the Albuquerque Police Department. Unlike most people Anthony never spent a day of his career working, because he loved every second and aspect of the job and didn’t consider it work.
In the spring of 1987 Anthony met his wife and best friend, Virginia Hubbard. They were married on March 28, 1989. Virginia already had a son, Kevin, who Anthony did not hesitate to adopt and raise as his own son. On December 12, 1990 their only daughter Stevie Marie was born.
Anthony and Virginia shared a love for the beach, the ocean, their family and family vacations. In 2005 Anthony was proud to pin Kevin’s badge upon his chest as he joined the ranks of the Albuquerque police Department. Anthony was very proud of the fact that his daughter Stevie Marie chose to become a life long fan of his favorite team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Anthony is survived by his wife Virginia Sedillo; Son Kevin Sedillo and his wife Mindy and their three daughters Sierra, Savanna, and Summer; Daughter Stevie Marie Lubold and her husband Robert Lubold; Parents Tony and Martha Sedillo; Sister Eileen Sedillo; and his brothers and sisters in blue.
Services for Anthony will be held on Tuesday, January 19th at 2:00 at Daniels Family Funeral Services at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. 87109.
