Antonio Skender

January 13, 1928 — August 28, 2009

Looking back on the memory of the dance we shared beneath the stars above, how could I'd know that you'd ever say goodbye; and now I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end, the way it all would go, our lives are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance. Our beloved father, Antonio Skender, born January 13, 1928, passed away on August 28, 2009. He was born of good parents, Matt and Anna Skender. The baby of ten children. He lived in Dawson, NM for most of his childhood and teenage years. He also served in the Air Force in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Romayne Skender. She was the love of his life. He always said that the day she died, he died too. He is survived by his three children, James Anthony Skender, Beverly Goetz and her husband Lanny, and Gloria Swap; his five beautiful grandchildren, Arrie Martinez and husband Andrew, Danielle Goetz, Melissa Swapp and husband Daniel Brittain, Alan Swapp, Jon Goetz, and Sara Jesah Romero; two great grandchildren, Traiton Brittain and Jon Romero Goetz; one brother Mike Skender and his wife Jane; one sister, Mary Ann Brandolino; three nieces, Carol and Cheryl and Geri; and two nephews, Kenny Corraza and Dennis Brandolino. He was truly one of the last of those who could fix anything, if he couldn't fix it, it wasn't broken. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him. God be with him till we meet again. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Road SE Rio Rancho, NM 87124 (505) 892-9920
