Arnold J Rael

June 22, 1938 — April 22, 2016

Rael, Arnold J
Mr. Arnold Rael, at age 77, has passed away. Loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Patricia; sons Richard and Jason (& wife Francesca); grandsons Dylan and Matteus. Born in 1938, he was raised in Cochiti Pueblo, raised his own family in the village of Sile, and later moved to Rio Rancho, where he could be closer to his sons in Albuquerque, yet remain in Sandoval County. A devoted educator, politician, and horse racing enthusiast, he lived in pursuit of his ideals. He worked in education for Bernalillo Public Schools, retiring from the position of Assistant Superintendent. He campaigned hard for the Democratic Party, including assisting in the elections of Gov. Richardson and Gov. King.   He moved from education to racing with an appointment to Racing Steward, and later State Racing Commissioner.  Arnold was a kind and loving man, who treated all he knew as family. Before he left us he asked for forgiveness from anyone he may have hurt, he wanted everyone to know that he forgave anyone who had hurt him, and he asked for love songs to be played at his funeral. He will be very missed and never forgotten. To view information or leave a condolence please visit www.danielsfuneral.com
