Holguin, Arthur Lorenzo Age 84, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Rio Rancho, NM. Arthur, also known as "Tudy" was born and raised in Santa Clara, "Central", NM. He worked thirty-five years for Civil Service at different locations, most notably at White Sands Missile Range and Holloman AFB. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ponfilo and Daria (Renteria) Holguin; brothers, Albert Rentia Holguin, Alejandro Renteria Holguin, and Ramon Holguin; sister, Elena Holguin; son, Edward G. Holguin. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Holguin (Parra); son, Robert A. Holguin; sisters, Felicitas Chavez and Adelina Duran; brother, Edward "Liso" Holguin; grandchildren, Eric Holguin, Brandon Holguin, and Arianna Holguin. Arthur and Juanita began their wonderful life together on December 7, 1950 and have never been apart since. Arthur was a devout Catholic and took pride in being a member of the Knights of Columbus, Las Cruces Council 1226. He loved music and was an avid harmonica player and was also a Notre Dame fan. Arthur graduated from Silver City High School on April, 1948 and he was voted the boy most likely to succeed, Home Room Chairman, Athletic Clubs, and Colts basketball squad. He attended and earned his Associates degree from Western New Mexico. He achieved numerous awards and certificates, most notable a Special Act Award from the Department of Army that was received on November 1981 for: "Investigating, Preparing and Negotiating Costs and Price Analysis with a total proposed value of over $50 million dollars during a three month period". His loyalty and commitment to the government earned him the recognition of Sick Leave Certificate in 1976 resulting in total hours of 2263 sick leave. A Rosary and prayer vigil, led by Deacon Bill Holguin, will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 3, 2013 with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
