Arthur "Turkey" Hurtado

Hurtado, Arthur "Turkey" Age 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully at his home, Friday, August 16, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Santa Fe, NM and was a resident of Pena Blanca, NM. He a proud Veteran of the United States Army, who served his country during the Vietnam War. He was known to many by the nick name "Turkey". He was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Alvina Hurtado; brothers, Jerry and Tony Hurtado; and sister, Teresa Hurtado. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Emily Hurtado; his children, John Hurtado and fianc�e, Lisa Torrez, Patricia Mares and husband Leonard; his precious grandchildren, Angelina, Patrick Hurtado and Joshua Mares. He is also survived by his sisters, Ana Leyba, Alice Martinez and husband Gilbert, Theresa Sandoval and husband David and Vicky Bonney and husband Bill. Arthur will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the Pena Blanca Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Arthur Mares, Phillip Vigil, Anthony Hurtado, Gilbert Martinez, Jr., Eppie Gallegos and Alex Castellano. Honorary Bearers will be Joe Valdez, Sr., Clodo Hurtado, Larry Hurtado, Santos Armijo, Larry Torrez, Mike Leyba, Larry Montoya and Charles Quintana.
